Abstract

PV grid is a new novel model developed to meet the demand of electricity required by various utilities. Mainly the characteristics of any smart grid depend on performance optimization, reliability and efficiency. In the proposed paper it consists of PV array, connected to DC-DC converter then fed to a DC-link bus and then converted to AC using an inverter and then fed to the grid. Optimization technique like Cuckoo Search Optimization MPPT is used to maximize the generated power and the system is developed in MATLAB/Simulink. The results indicate the CSO is better compared to the P&O and PSO approaches.
